StatisticsStandardDeviation(IEnumerableNullableDouble) Method

Estimates the unbiased population standard deviation from the provided samples. On a dataset of size N will use an N-1 normalizer (Bessel's correction). Returns NaN if data has less than two entries or if any entry is NaN. Null-entries are ignored.

Parameters

samples  IEnumerableNullableDouble
A subset of samples, sampled from the full population.

Return Value

Double
The unbiased estimate of the population standard deviation (uses an N-1 normalizer). Null entries are ignored.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type IEnumerableNullableDouble. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
