PrecisionAlmostEqualNorm(Double, Double, Double, Double) Method

Compares two doubles and determines if they are equal within the specified maximum absolute error.

Parameters

a  Double
The norm of the first value (can be negative).
b  Double
The norm of the second value (can be negative).
diff  Double
The norm of the difference of the two values (can be negative).
maximumAbsoluteError  Double
The absolute accuracy required for being almost equal.

Return Value

Boolean
True if both doubles are almost equal up to the specified maximum absolute error, false otherwise.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type Double. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
